It is now an open secret that the 9/11 Commission's Report was a cover-up. Much of it was lies and evasions. Journalists know it. Politicians know it. The EU Parliament knows it. MEPs were shown the film 'ZERO: An investigation into 9/11'. This is not just an American issue; it is a global issue.

Osama bin Laden was not on the FBI's wanted list, yet the World was told "We want him dead or alive". They ordered the Afghan government to hand him over. They agreed (assuming they could find him) provided that the US hands over the evidence. Even the FBI said they did not have the evidence. A bloody war ensued, using 9/11 as a pretext.

A lot else followed, including a 'War on Terrorism', leading to suppression of civilian rights. 9/11 was even used as part of the pretext for invading Iraq.

There is now widespread concern throughout the EU about the public silence on this issue. The EU should be at the forefront of ensuring that there is a proper investigation into the events of 9/11 and that those responsible, whoever they are, be brought to account.

This issue merits special consideration precisely because the press and the politicians either will not or cannot speak out.
