Where Are the Sensible Proposals???
In March 100 of us spent a weekend shut away in a hotel in London debating, reviewing, revising and then voting on a list of carefully worded, sensible and realistic proposals to be put to the European Parliament. Where are they??? Trawling through the list I can't find one of them!
It seems that the hard work and diligence of my colleagues on that day and myself has been wasted. The majority of the proposals listed here are unrealistic, impractical, trivial or (in some cases) plain cranky!
It is headed by a proposal to adopt a language that no one speaks - a proposal which seems to have been tabled by a non European citizen. As this is a forum for EUROPEAN citizens I suggest that this proposal is invalid and call upon the organisers to delete it forthwith.
We apologise for any confusion here.

For info:

The proposals you can see under the "vote on proposals" tab are not those proposals the participants came up with at the event in London. These proposals are from the online debate which was open to everyone. Only those participants who took part in London are able to vote the proposals created in London and at similar events across the EU. All these participants have now been sent individual voting sheets.

Please email any questions about voting to ecc09@involve.org.uk
I thought ours was a sensible proposal and for a while it seemed to get a response. This has been a 5 year effort so far.

I to am aslolutely Gobsmacked by what has been shown as the result of our weekend , it just reaffirms my belief that we need to get out Quick.
I have spoken to Laurie at Involve and to be fair he has passed on my comments to those in charge who have responded with the biggest load of waffle you could wish to read.
I am waiting for him to phone as I am tempted to go to the Newspapers with this as I think it STINKS, never mind we were on the Gravy Train for a weekend.
I am not sure if this will be allowed but my Email MIKE_830@msn.com would love to hear from any body else as I could the Forward the response to you.
Cheers Mike
ps I have lost your card Rob
Has this been an exercise in democracy or just a diversion from democratic processes? What's the point of such an exercise if the proposals from the public are just dismissed by 100 people meeting in London outside the remit of Parliament? It is untrue that Esperanto is a language that no-one speaks, as stated by rstrand. It has been up for serious debate in recent years in the European Parliament, where they struggle at great expense to conduct proper and fair debates through a cumbersome system of simultaneous interpretation and at times double interpretation. A hundred ignoramuses, possibly hand picked, spouting their prejudices adds nothing other than to support the status quo. To see how Esperanto works with more people from more countries that the EU Parliament, see YouTube video 'UK en Roterdamo 2008' (j5AocMDfNoc) .
Then there was the proposal on a 9/11 investigation. This is serious stuff, mate. The EU countries are guilty of allowing serious misrepresentations on that through our politicians and mainstream media. See Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth (ae911truth.org).
