Czech EU art stokes controversy
A new art installation going on display at the European Council building in Brussels has angered EU members with its lampoons of national stereotypes. . See the full newstory here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7827738.stm . Do you think these national stereotypes are accurate? Are our national differences compatible with a common European identity?

If I was Bulgarian or German, I wouldn't certainly liked that my country be represented that way. For the French, well, knowing the French and being myself married with a French, I think that they are ready to laugh about this : they always depict themselves as "des râleurs".

Every county would have certainly laughed of itself if it had really contributed to it -as, the original plan had, apparently, foreseen- and if the plan would have been better monitored by Eu's authorities (I don't know which ones but there certainly is be a service for this)

However, the Eu Czech President doesn't even show the Eu's flag near its country's flag : and this is really incredible and I don't understand why this is permitted

This is yet another foolish waste of EU money. Where are our priorities?
