Citizens meet and discuss at national conferences

30 randomly selected Maltese citizens gathered and debated the question “What can the EU do to shape our economic and social future in a globalised world?” on the 21st and 22nd of March at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa in San Anton, Balzan. On the 21st and 22nd March 2009, 30 randomly selected citizens from Malta gathered at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Balzan to discuss Europe's Social and Economic Future in a globalising world.

Is-Segretarju Parlamentari għall-Konsultazzjoni Pubblika u Informazzjoni, Dr Chris Said, kellu l-opportunita` li jassisti għal mod eżemplari ta’ mezz ta’ djalogu soċjali effettiv - dak tal-forum ta’ konsultazzjoni maċ-ċittadini. Il-forum hu mezz tajjeb ta’ kif tiġi inċentivata d-diskussjoni bejn ċittadini Maltin u dawk Ewropej, permezz ta’ diskussjoni li m’għandhiex ħitan ġeografiċi jew lingwistiċi u li għalhekk tagħti opportunita’ lil kull ċittadin jesprimi l-opinjoni tiegħu b’mod effettiv permezz ta’ dibattitu on-line.
